Which awning brackets fit a Wedgetail platform?
Short answer
Wedgetail makes fixed, adjustable, 270 degree and Fiamma awning brackets that fit in the accessory channel of a Wedgetail platform; third-party awning brackets may need the 10 mm spacer. The Wedgetail Trade has its own awning bracket set, and Commercial Max and Oval Steel take a flatdeck awning bracket. Each bracket's rating is on its product page, and the awning plus everything else on the rack must stay within the platform rating (100 or 150 kg dynamic, 100% off-road).

Wedgetail accessories secure into the accessory channel, so the brackets can go anywhere along the side of the platform. Sets of three spread the weight on a longer platform. The 270 degree and Fiamma brackets carry the highest bracket rating; check the figure on the product page against your awning's weight.
Third-party awning brackets
An awning maker's own brackets can go on a Wedgetail platform. The lip around the edge of the platform is there for strength, and some third-party brackets need a 10 mm spacer under the mounting point to clear it. With that, they fit. There is no Wedgetail spacer kit: use a 10 mm spacer and fasteners that suit the bracket. The third-party accessories guide explains the lip.
Weight: the awning counts toward the rack
The awning is part of the roof load. Add the awning, the brackets, the platform's own weight and everything else on the roof, and keep the total within the platform's rating (100 or 150 kg dynamic) and the vehicle maker's roof limit, whichever is lower. Every Wedgetail is 100% off-road rated, so the same figure applies on corrugations.
As an illustration only: a 30 kg 270 degree awning on a platform also carrying 40 kg of gear is 70 kg on the roof before the platform's own weight, and that total has to fit under both limits.
Which side to mount the awning
In Australia most awnings go on the passenger side, so the awning opens on the kerb side away from traffic. A 270 degree awning usually mounts at the rear corner on that side so it can wrap around the back of the vehicle. The bracket position in the channel is set at fitting.
