How do I mount a Starlink Mini on my roof rack?

Short answer

Wedgetail makes a lockable Starlink Mini mount, a Starlink Mini bracket and a recessed mount adapter that sit in the platform channel. The bracket holds the dish in an aluminium surround, the lockable mount adds a lockable latch so the dish can stay on the rack while you are away from camp, and the recessed mount adapter keeps the dish flush with the rack. Each has a slotted base that mounts across two crossbars or inline on a single bar with the supplied strut nuts and bolts; the Starlink Mini itself is not included.

How to mount a Starlink Mini on a Wedgetail platform

  1. Pick the spot. The slotted base mounts across two crossbars or inline on a single bar. Leave room around the dish so other gear does not shade it.
  2. Fit the strut nuts. Slide the supplied strut nuts into the crossbar channel and line them up with the slots in the base.
  3. Bolt the base down. Fit the supplied bolts and tighten them as the fitting instructions on the product page say.
  4. Fit the dish. Seat the Starlink Mini in the surround. On the lockable mount, close and lock the latch.
  5. Secure the cable. Route the power cable so it cannot chafe on the rack or flap in the wind.

Every Wedgetail stockist sells and fits, so a stockist can fit the mount with the rack. See where to buy.

Other roof racks and crossbars

The bracket and the lockable mount are designed for Wedgetail platforms and come with the hardware for them. On other crossbar systems, Wedgetail says to use fasteners of equivalent strength where compatible.

Weight on the rack

The Starlink Mini and its mount count against the platform's dynamic rating together with everything else you carry, and within your vehicle's roof limit. Every Wedgetail is rated 100% off-road to its full rating.
