Short answer

Wedgetail rubber insert kits are named for the platform they suit: a Wedgetail Adventure platform takes the Cross Bar Rubber Kit with its WTP code (for example the kit to suit WTP-1413U), and a Wedgetail Trade platform takes the Rubber Infill with its RWP code (for example the infill to suit RWP-2714). The inserts push into the top channel of the crossbars, sit just above the bar and give a soft surface that protects your load and stops it moving. The table lists every live kit with its RRP.

How to match the kit to your platform

Each kit is named for a platform part number. The same size code appears at the end of the platform's own SKU: the Ford Ranger Dual Cab (2022 to current) Wedgetail Adventure Platform is WT-FRPXW22-1413U, so it lines up with the Cross Bar Rubber Kit to suit WTP-1413U. On Wedgetail Trade, a platform SKU ending in 2714 lines up with the Rubber Infill to suit RWP-2714.

Not every platform code has its own kit in the list. If your platform's code is not in the table, the product page says to contact Wedgetail or your stockist to confirm the length that suits your rack. You can find your platform and its SKU through Find My Vehicle.

What the inserts do

• Protect the load: the rubber sits just above the top of the crossbar, so gear rests on a soft surface instead of bare aluminium.
• Stop the load moving: the grip of the rubber helps keep items from shifting on the rack.

Fitting and care

The inserts are fitted by pushing them into the crossbar channels. The Wedgetail Trade infill page notes the strips must be trimmed to length to match the crossbar. 2. Read the size code

   Take the code at the end of the SKU: four digits and a U on Wedgetail Adventure, four digits on Wedgetail Trade.

3. Pick the matching kit

   Choose the Cross Bar Rubber Kit (WTP code) or Rubber Infill (RWP code) named for that code.

4. Confirm if it is not listed

   If no kit carries your code, ask Wedgetail or your stockist to confirm the length that suits your rack.
