Tub rack or roof rack for a ute?
Short answer
Choose a tub rack if your ute has an open tub and you want long loads or a rooftop tent carried over the tub, and a roof rack on the cab or a canopy if you want the tub free or already run a canopy; Wedgetail makes cab, canopy and service body racks, and platforms for the EGR Roll Top roof rack over the tub, but no stand-alone tub rack. A cab roof rack is limited by the vehicle maker's roof limit as well as the rack rating, and a canopy rack by the canopy maker's rating; the lower figure applies. Most Wedgetail platforms are rated 100 or 150 kg dynamic per fitment (350 or 525 kg static parked), 100% off-road with no derating.

Does Wedgetail make a tub rack?

Tub rack or cab rack for a rooftop tent?
Either works if the ratings allow. On a cab rack the tent must sit within the rack's dynamic rating and the vehicle's roof limit on the move; parked, the tent plus people go against the static rating, 3.5 x dynamic on every Wedgetail. A tub or canopy mount keeps the cab roof free.
Can I use a tub rack with a canopy or roller cover?
