Short answer
Measure vehicle height plus rack height against the door; Wedgetail does not publish installed platform heights yet, and a low clearance version, the Wedgetail Trade Flat Deck, exists for vans. The vehicle fits only if the door opening is higher than the vehicle, the fitted rack and anything left on the rack added together. Measure a fitted rack on your model rather than relying on a brochure figure; stockists and the Bayswater factory fit racks, so ask one of them about a fitted rack on your vehicle.

Clearance = door opening minus (vehicle height plus fitted rack height plus anything left on the rack). Example only, not a Wedgetail figure: a 2,100 mm opening and a 1,900 mm vehicle leave 200 mm for the rack and everything on it. Leave a margin for the vehicle rising as you unload it and for a ramp or lip at the garage entry.
Why there are no installed heights on this page
Wedgetail does not publish installed platform heights yet. The height on your vehicle depends on the mounting kit for that fitment (factory rails, fixed points, factory holes or gutters) and on the shape of the roof itself, so a single figure would mislead. Measure a fitted rack on the same model instead. Racks are fitted on site at the Bayswater factory, and every stockist sells and fits, so ask one of them about a fitted rack on your model.
Low clearance for vans: Wedgetail Trade Flat Deck
The Wedgetail Trade Flat Deck is built without side rails for low clearance. It is listed as a separate version of the Wedgetail Trade platform for vans, for example the Toyota HiAce LWB Flat Deck, the Ford Transit Custom SWB (Feb 2024 on) Flat Deck and the Renault Trafic LWB Flat Deck. The rating rules do not change: 100% off-road and static 3.5 times dynamic.
4WDs and utes
- Sides are optional. Wedgetail Adventure sides are sold separately; if you add them, measure with them fitted.
- GU Patrol: Wedgetail lists a gutter mount Wedgetail Adventure platform for the GU (Y61) Patrol. Its installed height is not published, so measure a fitted one. See Nissan Patrol roof racks.
- Accessories count. An awning, a light bar or a solar panel on the rack can sit higher than the platform. Measure the highest point of the whole setup.
- Your vehicle's roof limit applies as well as the rack rating. Use the lower figure; see roof load limits by vehicle.

How high does a Wedgetail platform sit once fitted?
Wedgetail does not publish installed heights yet. Measure from the roof to the top of the platform rails on a fitted rack, or ask a stockist or the factory in Bayswater about a fitted rack on your model.
Will my 4WD fit in the garage with a roof rack?
Only if the door opening is higher than the vehicle height, the fitted rack height and anything on the rack added together. Measure all of them on your own vehicle; a suspension lift or larger tyres change the vehicle figure.
Is there a low clearance Wedgetail rack for a van?

Do awning brackets add height?
They can: anything mounted on the rack counts. Measure the highest point with the awning and its brackets fitted. Wedgetail sells adjustable and fixed awning brackets for Wedgetail Adventure; see awning brackets.
Does a low rack lose load rating off-road?
No. Every Wedgetail is 100% off-road rated to its full rating, and the static rating is 3.5 times the dynamic rating. The pick cards above show the dynamic rating for each range.
